Banque Misr contributes EGP 30 m to Al Nas Hospital

The Banque Misr has inked a 30-million-pound cooperation protocol with Al Joud Foundation to provide needed equipment to the Al Nas Hospital for children.

The funds are meant to support the radiology center of the hospital which offers medical services for free.

The hospital – located in the densely-populated area of Shubra El Kheimah in Qalubiya governorate – is deemed as one of the largest and distinguished medical centers in the Arab region and Africa.

The hospital – with an accommodation capacity of about 600 beds – offers medical services up to the international level.

The inking of the protocol underlined the bank’s pioneering role in the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) domain which is one the main axes of the bank’s strategy, especially in view of the efforts exerted by the Banque Misr Foundation for social development.

Banque Misr honored for over EGP 750 million CSR spending in 2019

The Banque Misr spent over EGP 750 million on Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) projects in 2018-2019 fiscal year, marking a  EGP 100 million rise in comparison with the 2017-2018 fiscal year.

The bank contributes to a large number to projects, especially in the fields of education, health and rural development, with an aim to realize social development.

He added that the bank also worked on creating jobs as well as empowering youth and women, particularly female breadwinners.

On 18 December 2019, Banque Misr joined hands with the National Bank of Egypt to sign a cooperation protocol with the General Authority for Roads, Bridges and Land Transport  to jointly contribute EGP 1.8 billion in three years for renovating the ring road of Greater Cairo.

Banque Misr is committed to the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI) – an independent international organization that has pioneered sustainability reporting since 1997, and the United National Global Compact – a UN initiative that establishes ten general principles for companies’ CSR activities.

International Finance named Banque Misr as the best in the fields of Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)  and Islamic banking transactions.

The bank was also named  as the best institution for Islamic banking transactions by the International Business Magazine and the Global Business Outlook  in 2109.

The bank copped about 23 awards and advanced positions during 2019 from heavyweight international associations and magazines.
