Emad Hassan, Project Manager of the Green Economy Financing Facility (GEFF) of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), said the program seeks to offer sustainable financing to customers via banks through a carbon emission reduction mechanism in addition to assessing the achievements realized by the beneficiaries.

During the 12th Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) and Sustainable Development Forum (12th CSR Forum), he said customers can get additional grants besides the loans if they adopt some eco-friendly standards.
He said the program is assessing projects from an environmental perspective in addition to working on raising awareness of customers  and banks on green financing.
He expressed happiness that countries began to prioritize climate action on their agendas over the past years, adding that the green transition became tangible and applicable, but it needs to be bankrolled.
