HDB key player in empowering women, eliminate illiteracy

The Housing and Development Bank (HDB) is one of the most important banks playing a key social role in empowering women and combating illiteracy.

The bank offers social services as well as financial and training support for handicraft projects which helped a large number of women in two Fayyom villages; Husseiniya and Wanaysa.

The bank is keen on contributing to women empowerment initiatives within the framework of its strategy of corporate social responsibility (CSR) and sustainable development.

Al-Masry Al-Aseel Association CEO Iman Hassan said the bank provides all needed support to reach the largest possible number of women in the two villages, especially through opening classes to eliminate illiteracy and integrate literacy into women’s craft workshops.

She added that the bank managed under its CSR strategy to reach remote villages and realized great success there.
