Hugo Tavares Augusto is the Head of Unit for Labour Mobility and Human Development (LHD) at IOM Egypt. He holds an MSc in Sociology and Migration and Ethnic studies from the University of Amsterdam and over ten years’ experience with IOM on project and policy development, implementation and management related to the fields of labour migration and migration and development. Since 2008, Hugo has managed projects in over ten countries, inter alia, North Africa, West Africa and South America focusing on policy development and technical cooperation and capacity building covering a number of migration-related topics, inter alia, temporary labour mobility and bilateral labour agreements, labour migration policy mechanisms, labour market and migration information systems, expatriate mapping and engagement, transfer of skills of competences and expatriate investment.
