Amway India has announced a digital literacy initiative in government schools as part of its CSR (corporate social responsibility) initiative. In this initiative, Amway will make computers available to over 5,000 students studying in 14 schools.

In the first phase of this drive, the company will create awareness about digital learning among the students in government schools. It has already given 26 computers to 14 schools in Jharkhand.

“Digital technology is evolving rapidly everywhere, and it is important that every child adapts to the change,” Rajat Banerji, vice president, corporate affairs at Amway India. “As part of our CSR initiative we have decided to adopt Tata Workers Union High School so that the quality of education being imparted can be improved which in turn will benefit the students,” he added.

Jharkhand’s Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Minister Saryu Roy who was present during the event, praised Amway’s initiative and encouraged the children to adapt to new-age learning techniques.

Like other community development programs undertaken by Amway, this initiative too supports the company’s motto of helping people live better lives.
