B.TECH spends EGP 18 m on CSR in 2019

B.TECH spent about EGP 18 million in 2019 on its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) activities and the company plans to up this number in 2020, B.TECH Board Chairman Mahmoud Khattab said.

He made the remarks during a press conference on the fringe of a ceremony marking the end of the fifth stage of the “Hantamem Al Farha” initiative which was spearheaded in December 2017.

Since the launch, the initiative has provided about 27,800 electric household appliances to about 4,500 brides in 18 governorates with a total cost of EGP 20 million in order to help them to complete their marriages.

He said “Hantamem Al Farha” initiative is meant to provide electric household appliances to 100 brides in each governorate in 2020.

In December 2017, the initiative extended 4.5-million-pound appliances to 1000 brides in 10 governorates; namely Beni Suef, Fayoum, Aswan, Luxor, Qena, Sohag, Assiut, Alexandria, Kafr El Sheikh and Daqahlia.

Khattab said the initiative was launched in tandem with several civil society organizations, including “Al-Hayat Al-Kareema” Bank which is one of the charity banks.

Khattab said “The relationship we have with banks of charity is a strategic relationship and they are our main partners. This initiative deepens our relationship with charity banks aiming for bringing the joy to young people and help them get married.”

He added “We hope that the initiative of “Hantamem Al Farha” will become a model to follow that opens the door for any company that wants to participate and helps young people so that happiness prevails in all governorates of Egypt.”

The company’s CSR activities are not confined to this initiative, the company has also distributed about 8,000 school bags during 2019, he said.

He added that the company has also organized training sessions for 265 graduates to hone their skills in order to be able to join the labor market.
