Egypt launches mobile phone app for COP27 services

Egypt’s Minister Communications and IT Amr Talaat gave the go-ahead of a mobile phone application for participants in the 27th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP27) to get all services they need.

The app can be downloaded from Apple store or Google Play for participants in the event to get several health, tourist and logistic services in addition to getting the latest news of the conference.

The app can also help translate guidelines or written signs to the desired language, he said, noting that the app also includes emergency services.

He also inspected Telecom mobile phone stations which were developed to be eco-friendly ones through depending on solar energy.

Talaat stressed that the IT infrastructure in Sharm el Sheikh is ready for the COP27.

This came during the minister’s inspection tour in Sharm el Sheikh to follow up preparations for COP27 and ensure securing digital services and high speed internet and communication services, especially in hotels and tourist facilities.
