Etisalat Misr, Health Ministry join hands for largest blood donation campaign
Etisalat Misr – the leading mobile operator in Egypt – joined hands with the Egyptian Health Ministry for launching the largest blood donation campaign in 2021.
The campaign is meant to spread awareness in society about the importance of blood donation to meet the needs of patients, especially during the coronavirus pandemic. Major countries suffered a 30 percent blood deficit.
This falls within the framework of the company’s social responsibility strategy.The company has sought to support the Egyptian government during the coronavirus pandemic to mitigate its negative impact on society.
Noha Serageldin, Etisalat Misr External and Internal Communication Director, said the company is proud to cooperate with the Health Ministry in such humanitarian campaigns and initiatives that would benefit the Egyptian society and directly contribute to saving the lives of patients and those injured in accidents.
She added that the company is mobilizing its technical and technological potentials to support the Egyptian community, especially the health sector.
As a responsible company, Etisalat Misr sent 2 million messages to promote for the blood donation campaign and secured mobile phone lines at donation centers to facilitate communication between the centers and donators.
The company sent messages to encourage people to donate blood and provided them with needed information about places for blood donation and their working hours.
The blood donation campaign also serves patients being treated at the state expense and health insurance patients.
