The EU Delegation to Egypt and the EU Neighbors South project organized a Campus Tour #EU4YOUth in Egypt under the theme of “Education and Youth Empowerment” as the EU invests massively in these areas in the country.

The camp tour took place at Alexandria University and Cairo University from February 20 to 24.

The camp tour falls within the framework of the #EU4YOUth regional communication campaign running in seven countries of the Southern Neighborhood region.

The Campus Tour #EU4YOUth encapsulates a wide range of communication activities dedicated to students, including panels, workshops, a networking and exhibition area as well as artistic performances. It aims to increase awareness and understanding of the EU-funded cooperation projects that empower the youth in different fields such as education, innovation, entrepreneurship, business development and job creation.

About EU Neighbors program:

The EU Neighbors portal is part of the OPEN Neighborhood Program. The Program was launched in November 2015 for a period of four years and builds upon the previous Regional Communication Program, including the EU Neighborhood Info Center.

The OPEN Neighborhood Program seeks to raise awareness, increase knowledge and understanding of the European Neighborhood Policy (ENP). The objective of the European Neighborhood Policy is to support reforms and democratic consolidation, and promote prosperity, stability and security in Europe’s neighboring countries.

OPEN Neighborhood is structured around three complementary projects, including two mirror projects communicating the results of EU support in the Southern Neighborhood (EU Neighbors South) and in the Eastern Partnership countries (EU Neighbors East) as well as a project for the whole Neighborhood focusing on the training of journalists and media specialists (MEDIA HUB).

The contracts for the three projects of the OPEN Neighborhood program are implemented by consortia led by STANTEC (for EU Neighbours South), Ecorys UK (for EU Neighbors East) and the Thomson Foundation (for the MEDIA HUB).

The Program is funded by the European Union.
