Int’l donors to allocate dlrs 56.6 m for projects to be implemented in tandem with UNDP

The Egyptian Ministry of Environment said international donors are expected to allocate up to dlrs 56.6 million in the 2019-2020 budget for projects to be implemented in Egypt in tandem with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) at a 68 percent uptick in comparison with the previous.

During a meeting on UN organizations’ action program, Egyptian Environment Minister Yasmine Fouad hailed the efforts exerted by the UN organizations over the past period, citing their contribution to various environment projects.

For her part, UNDP Resident Representative in Egypt  Randa Aboul-Hosn commended the ministry’s support for the UN working groups, a matter that helped pinpointing the priorities of the Egyptian environmental sector.

The talks tackled the 2019-2022 action plan of UN organizations as well as the progress realized so far in the Egyptian environmental projects being implemented in tandem with UN organizations.
