WE – also known as Telecom Egypt – launched this Ramadan a campaign to help deaf people restore their hearing within the framework of its commitment to social corporate responsibility (CSR).

The campaign is meant to focus on cochlear implant which is a surgically implanted neuroprosthetic device that provides a sense of sound to a person with moderate to profound sensorineural hearing loss.

WE believes that its mission is to develop Egyptian society by focusing on high-impact, critical fields, such as improving health services, training and education, integrating the disabled, empowering youth and women, and developing our community, all through providing sustainable solutions based on WE’s core business. The company also strives to encourage all employees and companies to undertake their duty in developing society to increase productivity and secure inclusive economic growth for all Egyptians.

WE maintains strong relationships with civil society and governmental institutions. Through these relationships, it succeeded in developing a framework that enables it to better understand the society’s needs and fundamental problems and thus make a real difference in Egyptian society in many areas.

In the technology domain, WE recognizes the importance of the role of information and communications technology (ICT) in achieving sustainable development and improving the services provided to citizens.

Improving health services in Egypt is among the main pillars of  WE Corporate Social Responsibility programs. Within this context, the company launched 120 blood donation campaigns to fill the deficit in the blood banks of the Ministry of Health.

Blood banks of the Ministry of Health has been linked through an electronic network enabling the decision maker to immediately identify blood reserves, places of shortage and surplus, thus facilitating the redistribution when needed as well as sharing information between blood banks

WE also believes in the importance of education and training in improving the living conditions of individuals and thus achieving the economic and industrial growth of society.

It also works on empowering youth by providing them with the right skills required by the labor market using telecommunication tools and solutions.

As for people with special needs, the company always tries to integrate them as the statistics of the National Council for Disability showed that there are 17 million people with special needs in Egypt.

WE also addresses social problems facing Egyptians by providing appropriate solutions that help achieve sustainable development.
