Hassan Moustafa: Egypt has national strategy for turning to green economy

Chairman of the annual Corporate Social Responsibility Forum (CSR Forum) Hassan Moustafa said Egypt now has a national strategy for transition to green economy and all its institutions came to talk “the language of sustainability”.

Addressing the inauguration of the 11th CSR Forum on Monday, he said the Egyptian state has taken steps towards localizing the Sustainable Development Goals over the past eight years, since starting urban planning for Egypt to embrace more than 14 smart and sustainable cities.

The forum aims at encouraging all parties to rally up efforts to achieve balanced sustainable development in all parts of Egypt, Moustafa said.

He added that the government focused on green economy as it is the aspired ambition for achieving sustainable development and economic leap, while taking into consideration the social dimension in order to realize comprehensive sustainable development in all Egyptian cities.

Moustafa added that “Decent Life” is a dream for all Egyptians; citizens deserve more from the government, the private sector and the civil society that believe in the importance of reaching vulnerable people.

Decent Life project will not be achieved without getting all parties concerned to join hands.

He added that Egypt is among world countries that prepared its own strategy “Egypt Vision 2030” to localize sustainable development.
