The produced fuel is sent to the Ain Sokhna cement factory to be used in the production process, he said during the 13th CSR and Sustainable Development Forum which is organized by CSR Egypt. The event kicked off on Thursday in the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada.
Mahdy said Geocycle factory in Ain Sokhna works in line with the state vision for realizing the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals and securing green environment.
This also conforms with the Environment Ministry’s efforts to have clean communities through recycling and eliminating waste.
Mahdy added that Geocycle has signed an agreement with Elsewedy Industrial Development company for managing construction and industrial waste.
Under the agreement, Geocycle will have the right for green and eco-friendly solutions in the industrial zone so as to manage waste of factories there.
The agreement will have a positive impact on communities and environment as it will contribute to the initiatives of zero emission and carbon neutrality which represent the most important sustainable development goals.
The company seeks to push forward the wheel of green transition and curbing plastic pollution and carbon footprint, he said.
He expounded that this could be accomplished through the industrial sector’s adoption of safe and sustainable waste management, adding that this will help turning Egypt into a regional hub for sustainable waste management.
