Chairman of the board of trustees of the Sona3 El Khair Foundation Moustafa Zamzam said the “For Egypt ..We Build Generations” initiative seeks to provide health support of one million children in the coming years.
He made the remarks during the launch of the second stage of the initiative at the 13th CSR and Sustainable Development Forum.
The four-day event – organized by CSR Egypt – kicked off on Thursday in the Red Sea resort city of Hurghada.
Zamzam highlighted the importance of effective partnerships under the initiative.
Under the first stage, 50,000 children in the Upper Egypt governorate of Qena underwent medical check-ups as per eye diseases, diabetes, dwarfism and anemia.
Zamzam noted that the initiative managed to cut disease-related dropouts at Qena schools from 18 to 7 percent in a record time of three months.
About 500 doctors were trained under the initiative, Zamzam added
The initiative’s second stage aims to provide integrated healthcare services for about 100,000 children in Beheira and Beni Suef governorates.
CSR Egypt, Sona3 El Khair Foundation for Development and the National Alliance for Civil Development Work joined hands for implementing the overture – which falls within the context of the presidential initiative Decent Life.
